Can I just say? The people who inhabit the comments section at NOLA.com are clearly the dumbest people on the planet. I don’t always find their remarks offensive, but their stupidity is a slap in the face.

I think the ones in the story about Wendy Burns you linked to earlier are typical: rancorous, extremist, rabid. You wonder if they talk like this in person or if it’s only in the anonymous safety of a comment section that they feel free to spew this bile. Plus, don’t any of them have spell check?
